Way too long

[edit]

This page should be improved based on England or Japan. It's a mess currently. 2A00:23C7:6989:2701:D45D:AEF4:E222:51BC (talk) 00:27, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your "Way too Long" observation, how is it that individual biographies (e.g. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein) are even longer, yet contain no similar criticism? 2804:14C:6A:9449:D1C1:F422:127E:D3D2 (talk) 14:10, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
many biographies, mostly men but there are exceptions, come in for exactly the same criticism e.g. Napoleon used to be longer but has been trimmed. Bernstein is 10,000 words so it's perhaps been trimmed since you mentioned it. You're free to go on the talkpages of the biographies? Tom B (talk) 16:58, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Commas

[edit]

There are a lot of sentences beginning with "In [year]" which don't use a comma after that expression. Shouldn't it be used in English? Quite sure that's recommended, to say the least. Thanks, RodRabelo7 (talk) 06:24, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's recommended in American English, but this article appears to use British English which doesn't require it. Nikkimaria (talk) 12:46, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: It's not clear what change you want to be made to the article. Also, Wikipedia generally does not state opinions like "best"; instead, it describes factual statements about the opinion. Quadrantal (talk) 16:10, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Second line under economy has in brackets "the 42th highest in the world", it should be "42nd". Uoauibdhv (talk) 04:20, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
